Since I haven't taken the time to do it yet, I want to introduce Matteo's dog as a new addition to my family. And I say 'my' because the four of us is our family. But Gizmo is new to Bowie and I. When Matteo and I were first dating, Gizmo and Bowie were good friends. Once we got married, they became sisters. It's like when you were in junior high and you always wished your best friend would marry your brother because then you and your best friend would be sisters. Well, that wish came true for Gizmo and Bowie.
So without further ado, I give you...Gizmo:
And this is how Bowie has decided to welcome Gizmo in to the family:
By displaying her utter dominance.
Gizmo, you look worried, darling.

Thank you, everyone for your input on the questions I had before. Sometimes I get to wondering these things and find it helpful to hear others' opinions. Plus, I love getting comments. So thanks for that. On a less serious note:
Here's a little photo of Bowie and her fresh opened Christmas presents. She didn't open them; a family member opened them for her. She got a new rope last Christmas too, but I have to buy her one about every two or three months because they start to get too stringy. The froggy was a new toy. As I predicted, she had the poor guy's body ripped out, which was a hard white ball, within two days. Then she ripped his head apart and there was stuffing everywhere. Then she was left with the white ball and she had chewed that up within hours. So good-bye, Froggy. He didn't last long. Reminds me of this post.

For the first few weeks after I got my camera, I was still too afraid to let it leave the apartment due to it's fragility, the fact that the lens (just discovered that I don't know how to spell "lense") could get dirty, it's ability to make my chin drop by just looking at it...basically, it's utter holy-ness, my main photo subject was, much to her dismay, my little dog, Bowie. She was the photo subject of the first picture I took with my precious camera. And now Bowie can add the fact that she took my camera's virginity to her resume. I think that would look good under the section labeled 'Special Skills'.
At one point, I took the above photo and since then I haven't been able to tear myself away from it. I personally think that this photo of her is absolutely breathtaking, not just because the photo quality is good...ahem...but mostly because Bowie is just so dang beautiful. That squeezable snout, her genuine and wise eyes, her perky ears and the way her white fur blends in with the wall behind her...ahhh...mmmm...oooo. It makes me feel so peaceful and relaxed. Call me crazy, but this photo of my sweet little snout faced Bowie makes me large-hearted and content.

As most of you know, Bowie hates to get her photo taken. I think she gets annoyed at the fact that I have this massive thing next to my head, facing her, repeating her name over and over so she'll look at me. When I was home for Thanksgiving, I didn't take her little bed with us so I created her a pillow bed and blanket. She loved it, but didn't love it when I noticed a photo opportunity. \
Still somewhat awake here...
Sleepy...
Fading out...
Very, very sleepy...
Then she got so annoyed that she tucked her head behind the pillows so she could finally rest.
What a cutie, I say.

I took this photo moments after I took about fifty photos of her and add in a couple of videos too. Bowie's never been fond of the camera mostly because she doesn't like sitting still long enough for it to take a decent picture. So this is her giving me the death look basically saying, "If you take one more photo, I'll snatch that camera from you, hide it in that area behind the bed you don't like because you can't reach it and chew it into pieces. Your choice." My response? "You're so cute, Bowie!"

You feisty little pre-teen! (Just turned two.) I love you! To reminisce:
Just about a week old, nappin' with the siblings. Look at that pink snout!
Aww, my precious girl! That paw is about as big as her face.
Learning how to use stairs for the first time can be a tad tricky. She looks determined though, eh?
Bowie has never been fond of the camera. First off, she doesn't like to sit still. Secondly, she just doesn't like it. So, she does things like this where just as I'm about to take the photo, she looks away. She knows I hate it.
At the top of a waterfall cliff we climbed. Hiking and being in the outdoors in general has always been one of her favorite activities.
I disturbed her slumber to take a photo. I couldn't resist. She looks so cute rolled into a little ball.
Another one where she's trying to look away. You have truly enriched my life, Bow Bear!

This photo was just after I had taken Bowie to the dog park. To be completely truthful, it really isn't that hot here for a typical August day. Nothing has been too typical this summer. We had monsoon-like rains in May and June. July was hot, but not the hottest summer I've experienced in Flagstaff. And August is usually when we get the monsoons but, not much has been going on. In fact, the past few days have felt like early Fall to me.
That being said, for a doggie with black fur running around for an hour straight it IS hot. Bowie is in really good shape for a dog with how she is constantly running around using the full tank of energy she always has. She can jump higher than any dog I've seen. But when we do any major activity like a long hike, the dog park, disc golf, she turns into a melted puddle of ice cream. As soon as we get home, she bolts into the apartment, drinks what seems like a gallon of water and then picks this spot in her crate. It's cooler to lay in the crate than it is to lay in the carpet. She can also sometimes be seen on the tiled bathroom floor as well.
It is times like these when it's OK to use the high pitched voice and say, "Oooooohhhhh Bowie! You are so cute! Are you being a good girl!? Yeah! Bowie's a good girl! Bowie Bowie Bowie!" It's normal to add a squeal of sorts in there too. When she's as tired as she is in the photo above, giving her the ooos and awws of how cute she is is safe. Because normally she'd try to jump up and lick your face off. That's why sometimes Bowie is at her cutest when she is exhausted, when you can do anything to her and she'll just lie there like a clump of roadkill.
